Inactivity
People who don't exercise have an increased risk for stroke. Regular exercise
helps prevent stroke by reducing high blood pressure and low-density lipoprotein
cholesterol (LDL, the bad kind). Exercise also makes blood vessel walls more
flexible and, in turn, prevents atherosclerosis ("hardening of the arteries").
