High Blood Pressure
People with high blood pressure, or hypertension, are five to six times more
likely to have a stroke than people with normal blood pressure. Some people
may need to take medications to keep their blood pressure within a normal range.
Follow these suggestions to help reduce your risk for high blood pressure:
- Maintain a healthy weight
- Limit alcohol intake to one drink per day
- Exercise regularly and follow a heart-healthy diet
- Reduce stress
